Free Health Assessment
Funded through Medicare, Lockridge Medical Centre offers an annual health check created specifically for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander patients.
This dedicated check up was introduced to support the unique health risks experienced by both Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders.
It is designed to improve early detection and treatment of treatable conditions that contribute to early death, like diabetes and heart disease. During the health check, a doctor and nurse will assess the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of the patient, with information and advice then provided on maintaining and improving all aspects of the patients health as needed. Any referrals to other health professionals for extra care will also be provided as needed, including but not limited to, podiatrists, physiotherapists or dieticians.
The Free Health Assessment can be offered every 9 months for all age groups.
To discuss a health assessment with a doctor, please phone the practice (6278 2555) on the day you want an appointment.
