Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health

Free Health Assessment

Lockridge Medical Centre offers an annual health check created specifically for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander patients.

This dedicated check-up was introduced to support the unique health risks experienced by both Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders.

It is designed to improve early detection and treatment of treatable conditions that contribute to early death, like diabetes and heart disease. During the health check, a doctor and nurse will assess your physical, psychological, and social wellbeing, with information and advice then provided on maintaining and improving all aspects of your health as needed. Any referrals to other health professionals for extra care will also be provided as needed, including but not limited to, podiatrists, physiotherapists, and dieticians.

This free health assessment, funded through Medicare can be offered every 9 months for all age groups. You can discuss a health assessment by phoning the practice on (6278 2555) or book online:

Lockridge Medical Centre acknowledges the Nyoongar Whadjuk people, who are the traditional custodians of this land. We wish to acknowledge the strength of their continuing culture and offer our respects to Elders past and present
