I was awarded National Merit Scholarship at the age of 13(1973), in grade 10 examinations I secured admission into a prestigious medical school Andhra Medical College at the age of 15 years(1975). Successfully completed MBBS by 21 years(1981) (I could probably claim for the Youngest ever Indian qualified Doctor record).
Joined Indian Railway Medical Services in 1983. Served Indian Railways in various capacities. In 1993 I was awarded a Diploma in Public Health. As a public health officer, I was instrumental in implementing programs for control of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Took keen interest in promoting occupational health. In 1998, received a National Award for successfully promoting Occupational health and controlling communicable diseases including vector borne diseases. Conducted some innovative programs imparting education to personnel involved in prevention of food adulteration. Conducted one of the first of it’s kind programs to contain stray dog menace. Evolved a stringent model for surveillance, primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of HIV/AIDS epidemic which was adopted all over the Indian Railways. During the period between 1995 and 2005 I functioned as a Public Health officer . In 2005 moved to Queensland Australia and started working as a GP. From 2006 to 2011 worked as a deputizing GP in after hours. Had several appreciation letters from the patients during this time. In the year 2008 I was awarded FRACGP. In 2019 I successfully completed a Masters in Public Health from Monash University. After COVID pandemic I started working as a locum trying to help doctors who are in desperate need of a break.
