Dr Komal Thakkar completed her GP training in UK in 2008 and moved to Perth in 2012. She is a Fellow of Royal Australian College of GP’s.

Dr Thakkar holds a Professional Certificate of Dermoscopy and Professional and Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine (HealthCert). She is currently training towards a Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Medicine.

Dr Thakkar offers skin-related consultations and has special interest in Skin cancer prevention, detection and management. She performs full body molescan/ skin checks using high quality Dermlite dermoscope with Dermengine Artificial Intelligence. She offers non-surgical treatment options (cryotherapy and topical treatments) for pre-malignant skin lesions, biopsies for suspicious lesions and excisions.

Billing policy for Skin Checks

• DVA Gold and White card holder with skin cancer listing will be bulk billed.
• All other patients are privately billed.
  • The cost for a skin check may vary between $100 and $140 depending on the time required and lesions of concerns (Medicare rebate available)
  • Commonwealth aged pension card holders have discounted skin checks varying between $85 and $125 (Medicare rebate available)

If further treatment is required, the costs will be discussed at the appointment.
