All consultations relating to an injury for which you can claim compensation (eg an injury at work, or in a motor vehicle accident, or where a public liability claim may be pursued) will be privately billed. Similarly, most medical examinations, for example; driving, travel, sport, leisure pursuits or insurance purposes, are not covered by Medicare. Charges for these services vary according to the complexity of the request - you should discuss the charges with the doctor before they commence the medical examination.
Medicare cards, Pension Cards, Health Care Cards, Commonwealth Senior Cards and Veteran Affairs Cards MUST be shown at EVERY VISIT.
